On a recent weekend away from the cubs, Finch and I spent the night at our favorite nearby getaway. Which also happens to be the little town/state park where we got engaged. The next day, we decided to check out a new B&B for future trips. It was outside of town, deep into the countryside, so here's what we found in the front yard:
The innkeeper told us this was a hummingbird moth. Aptly named, as we first mistook it for a hummingbird.
The little inn was a gem too, once we got inside. Can't wait to return!
PS...I just went back and edited these, my very first edited photos, in Picnik. Oh my holy goodness. This could be very bad. I was reminded, for the first time since before Finch and I began dating, of my obsession with film photography and an insatiable desire to be in the darkroom developing and tweaking stuff. "Must not ignore little family....must not ignore little family...must not ignore little family."
