time away at home

A couple weekends back, Finch and I had ourselves a date.

The cubs were at Mimi & Papa's for the night.

While discussing what we wanted to do

we realized we just wanted to stay in.

It was glorious.

We moved the toybox out and lit the candles in the fireplace.

We had wine and talked and the Christmas music played on and on.

Then we watched movies.  Loud.  Without subtitles.

It started snowing outside.

I took pictures.

We love our children, but holey moley is a break now and then spectacular.

And, they had a fabulous time at the grandparents.

It is good to finally be in this place. 

It took a long time.
