It is my favorite, favorite time of year.
Only a few more weeks and it will be truly perfect.
A nip in the air,
some luminous yellow and orange leaves
A nip in the air,
some luminous yellow and orange leaves
and the first waft of a fireplace hard at work somewhere nearby.
And a little Loreena McKennitt Live in Paris and Toronto.
Nothing says Fall to me like a crisp, cloudy sky and Loreena McKennitt!
As for the little family, we have a habit now of kicking off this glorious season
by journeying out to a little country apple farm not too far away.
by journeying out to a little country apple farm not too far away.
Yesterday was our first visit.
There is a large tent at the entrance to the farm with all sorts of
traditional and kooky Autumn Goodness.
traditional and kooky Autumn Goodness.
I'm pretty sure I heard my soul humming as we wandered around
and took in all the yummy sights, samples and smells.
and took in all the yummy sights, samples and smells.
The cubs found this enormous Adirondack chair particularly entertaining.
And now for a little one-minute character study of my children:

And some funky treats were available for the taking too.
I didn't get a decent picture, but there were
Gummy Fried Eggs and Gummy Chicken Feet as well.
Love this place!
Next, we were off to pick some apples.
Boo made sure Zee knew just how to perform the complicated procedure.
And then proceeded to fixate on a single, just slightly out of reach, apple.
It only took him 27 tries to snag it.

Ahhhh...Autumn...you have stolen our hearts.
Time to make our first batch of Apple Crisp for dinner.
Add a dollup of Cinnamon Ice Cream on top.
And have a jar of Pumpkin Butter on toast for breakfast.
Or Peach Butter.
With warm Mulled Cider.
Oh my.
Happy Autumn Everybody!
